Also known as Bangor Pier, it is the second-longest pier in Wales and one of the longest and best-preserved piers in the UK. The pier was opened in 1896, built to accommodate the growing number of tourists visiting Bangor and for commercial purposes. It was designed by J.J. Webster, and stretches 472 meters, featuring an elegant Victorian-style design. In 1974, the pier was closed due to safety concerns. However, restoration work was undertaken, and it was reopened in 1988. At the end of the pier, there is a small pavilion and benches, offering stunning views of the Menai Strait. The sunset views from the pier are particularly breathtaking. Visitors can enter the pier by paying a 50 pence fee in cash.

Whatever the weather it’s a great (short) walk to the cafe at the end. There are toilets at the end too. If you live locally or visit regularly then you can buy an annual or even a life ticket at a very reasonable rate.
